Mission
Weaverville Fire Department protects the community of Weaverville and surrounding areas in Trinity County, the county seat and a historic Gold Rush town on Highway 299 in the Trinity Alps foothills of far northern California, set in steep conifer forest and river canyon within the Shasta-Trinity National Forest. It is a volunteer department, with about 25 members responding to roughly 500 calls a year from a single station whose new dormitory now houses on-call volunteers. The work spans structural and wildland fire suppression with regular mutual aid deployment, medical aid response, prescribed burning, water tender operations for unhydranted rural areas, and community fire safety, in one of the most fire-exposed corners of the state.
The Weaverville Volunteer Fire Department is a registered 501(c)(3) organization responsible for responding to emergency calls in the Weaverville area of Trinity County.
