The San Andreas Fire Protection District serves the San Andreas area of Calaveras County, the county seat, in the Sierra Nevada foothills of Gold Country along Highway 49. It is a volunteer district, with career firefighters responding from its headquarters station, working oak woodland and chaparral terrain of steep canyons and severe wildland-urban interface exposure, and providing structural fire suppression, wildland fire response, and emergency response alongside a dense network of neighbouring agencies.
