Mission
Napa County Fire Department protects the unincorporated county of Napa, from the Carneros district at San Pablo Bay through the Napa Valley to Calistoga and Mount Saint Helena, from twenty stations made up of both career and volunteer firefighters. Operating under a CAL FIRE contract, it provides structural and wildland fire suppression, wildland-urban interface protection, countywide emergency response coordination, defensible space and chipping, and fire prevention in vineyard, oak woodland, and steep chaparral country with a history of catastrophic fire.
CAL FIRE provides administrative support and coordination with five full-time paid stations and oversees the county's nine volunteer fire companies operating under a County Fire Plan approved by the County Board of Supervisors.
